ARE ALL CAMPS HELD ON THE UNC WILMINGTON CAMPUS?

Yes, all of the training sessions are in the same gyms that our UNCW women’s volleyball and basketball programs use.  Both gyms are air conditioned and overnight campers will be in air-conditioned dorms on the grounds of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. 

 

WHAT DOES EACH CAMPER RECEIVE?

Beginners Only Day Camp, Evening Skills Series, All Skills Camp, Advanced Camp, and Position Camp participants will receive a UNCW volleyball camp t-shirt and volleyball. Beach campers receive a UNCW beach volleyball camp tank top. In addition, daily prizes are awarded throughout these camps.

 

IS A PHYSICAL EXAM REQUIRED TO ATTEND CAMP?

No, but you must download and complete the Medical Form (click here to download) and you will be required bring this form with you to camp. This form does NOT require a physician’s signature; rather, a parent/guardian must sign the form. Campers will not be allowed to participate without this form.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DAUGHTER IS INJURED OR SICK DURING CAMP?

There is around the clock medical supervision, which includes athletic trainers at all sites during the duration of camp. In addition, we have use of our Sports Medicine facility on campus for injury treatment if needed. Parents will be notified of any injury or sickness.

 

DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS?

Currently, we are offering an Early Bird Discount for All Skills Camp, Advanced Camp, and Position Camp only, if you register before April 1st. UNCW Faculty/Staff receive a $40 discount off of their child’s registration for All Skills Camp, Advanced Camp, and Position Camp only; individuals who receive Faculty/Staff discounts are not eligible for the Early Bird Discount. No discounts are available for Evening Skills or Beginners Only Day Camps.

 

WHEN IS THE REMAINING BALANCE DUE? 

Final payment for Advanced, All Skills, and Position Camps are due by the first day of camp. Registrations will not be accepted without a deposit or full payment.  Evening Skills and Beginners Only Day Camps must be paid in full at the time of registration.

 

DOES MY DAUGHTER NEED ANY MONEY AT CAMP?

We suggest $60 for your daughter. The camp store will have volleyball apparel for sale such as t-shirts, spandex, key chains, sweatshirts etc. For overnight campers, there will also be snacks and drinks available located at the volleyball camp store in the dormitory. 

 

WHAT IS THE COACH-TO-CAMPER RATIO?

At our full day camp, we have one coach for every 8 campers. The Amy Bambenek Summer Volleyball Camp staff is comprised of head and assistant college coaches, along with some of the top high school and club volleyball coaches in the region, current professional volleyball players and NCAA college athletes.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR CAMP?

We prefer you register and pay online at www.seahawkvolleyballcamps.com

All major credit cards accepted. Mail in registrations are accepted, along with check payable to: Amy Bambenek Volleyball Camps. You will receive an email confirmation directing you to the forms page online. It is your responsibility to complete the medical form and bring it to camp.

 

WHAT SHOULD MY DAUGHTER BRING TO CAMP?

Volleyball equipment (volleyball shoes, knee pads, multiple t-shirts, spandex etc.) 

Suggested $60 for possible camp store purchases

A positive attitude!

Please do not bring additional personal equipment (stereos, TV’s etc.)

Overnight campers: 

Pillow case, bed sheets, blanket, alarm clock, towel, shower shoes/sandals and toiletries.

 

ARE PARENTS ALLOWED TO WATCH?

Definitely. You are welcome to attend any of the training and games.

 

ARE THERE ANY REFUNDS?

Absolutely no refunds for cancellations 48-hours prior to the start of camp check-in.  There is a $100 non-refundable deposit for All Skills, Advanced and Position Camps.  There is a $50 service fee applied to all Evening Skills and Beginners Only Day Camp cancellations.
