EVENING SKILLS CAMPS

JULY 15 - 18, 2019, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Grades 6 - 9

This is a four-day commuter-only camp held in the evenings for rising 6th-9th graders looking for individual skill development. No overnight accommodations are available for this camp. Each two-hour session will be developmentally progressive for maximum learning and corrective reinforcement. Each session will start with the fundamentals and progress into more advanced techniques with fun skill competitions. 

Each camper will receive a UNCW volleyball camp t-shirt and Seahawk volleyball.

No Early Bird or UNCW Faculty/Staff discounts available for the Evening Skills Camps.

Session 1

SERVING & PASSING

JULY 15

This clinic is designed to help campers improve on the two most important skills in volleyball. Both skills will be taught in progression to make sure each camper performs the skills mechanically correct. The focus will only be on serving and passing, and the improvement will be substantial over the course of the week.

Session 2

PASSING & SETTING

JULY 16

Campers will learn basic fundamentals to improve their first and second contact.  This clinic will focus on forearm and overhead passing from serve receive, as well as defensive positions. Early and clear communication are key in developing success in passing and setting techniques.

Session 3

SETTING & ATTACKING

JULY 17

Regardless of position, ALL players are encouraged to learn various setting tempos and learn the locations for in-system and out-of-system offenses. Combined with arm swing mechanics, footwork, and court movements, this clinic will help elevate your offensive game!

Session 4

REVIEW & COMPETITION

JULY 18

In our final clinic, campers will review their fundamental skills before we put them all together for some competition. Campers will maximize learning opportunities and improve their all-around game in drills designed and led by the Seahawk volleyball staff & players.

CAMP DETAILS

Must be paid in full at the time of registration.

No refunds for cancellations on or after July 1st.

A $50 service fee will be charged for all cancellations.

No refunds will be issued upon expulsion or voluntary withdrawal.

EACH CAMPER MUST COMPLETE THE LIABILITY AND MEDICAL WAIVER AND TURN IN AT CAMP CHECK-IN. Please do not mail in prior to camp. Campers will not be allowed to participate without the completed forms.

Athletic trainers will be on duty to monitor the well-being of our campers.

 

College coaches and college players (current and former) will serve as camp staff instructors.  

 

Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and Seahawk volleyball.

 

Details about check-in location and procedures will be posted on the website by July 1.
